​​​​CAMPING TRIPS 

There are a number of remote camping areas within easy reach from Brooklyn.  These are all to the north west of Brooklyn and depending on weather and tides, can be reached with a 3 to 4  hour paddle.  Alternatively, HRK will meet you at Berowra Waters, which is a picturesque river based community 20 mins from the freeway.  Here, you can launch in calm, protected waters and paddle north to the campsites, the first being reached in 2 hours.  See the map below.

(Note, all campsites except Tank Creek have basic toilets.  There is NO drinking water available except at Crosslands Reserve)

​SPECIAL REQUESTS

The Hawkesbury River and its tributaries covers a wide area, with many places to explore.  HRK will be happy to assist in alternative expeditions, and depending on availability, will deliver kayaks to many other locations, not just Brooklyn, Berowra Waters or Bobbin Head.  If you have a trip in mind, perhaps a multi day paddle from Windsor to Brooklyn, then let us know and we'll do our best to make it possible.

We are pleased to provide a pair of kevlar Mirage 580 sea kayaks for experienced paddlers.  Proof of competence will be required.

Hawkesbury River Kayaks operates out of our home town, Brooklyn.  Access to the River is safe and easy here at Parsley Bay.


Approx paddling times (one way) from Parsley Bay, depending on wind, tide and weather:

  • Dangar Island - 20 mins
  • The Tanks - 40 mins
  • Gunya Beach - 40 mins
  • Dead Horse Bay - 10 mins
  • Sandy Bay - 20 mins
  • ​Jeruslaem Bay - 1.5 hours
  • Cottage Point - 2-3 hours
